On My Shelf: Pure (Pure, #1) by Julianna Baggott

Teresa at Readers Live A Thousand Lives has an awesome feature called "On My Shelf" that anyone can join. The idea is to spotlight a book from your TBR shelf; it's a fun way to discuss books with fellow bloggers and, with their help, decide which books are must-reads... and which ones can wait a while longer.

I bought Pure by Julianna Baggott as a new release in 2012 and then bought the sequel, Fuse, in 2013. Before I buy the final book, Burn, I really need to start this trilogy and see what it's all about. I've seen it shelved as science fiction, dystopian, and post-apocalpytic; and the summary is definitely intriguing. Not to mention the covers in this series are so pretty... and I'm such a sucker for a pretty cover.

Have you read Pure? What are your thoughts?
Do I drop everything and start reading -- or put it back on my shelf?

Hope everyone has a great weekend! We'll see you Monday!

  1. I haven't read it, but it sure sounds intriguing. I'll be checking it out after this for sure. I'm still down to my third book in the Harry Potter series so I'm sure I can't be able to read it sooner, but I bet it'll be great if I could read your review first before I start. Besides, 3 books isn't a short read hehe

  2. Ohhhhhh you did an On My Shelf today too!!! YAY! I love when we are twinsies. I haven't read this one but I do love that cover and I remember hearing a lot about it back in the day. If you end up reading this one you will have to let me know Wifey!

  3. Oh yes, I read this one when it came out. I remember it being dark, and people ran around with all kinds of stuff fused to them. I also remember a nasty cliffhanger. I never continued the series. It was good but not great enough obviously for me to continue.

  4. I have not read Pure- but I definitely remember that cover. I read the comments and cliffhangers are tough- but a bit easier when the whole series is already out. :)
