Giveaway and My Ten Favorite Quotes from The Stag Lord by Darby Kaye

I just loved The Stag Lord!  This was my first adult urban fantasy, and I am obsessed! I can hardly wait for everyone to meet Bannerman Boru, but first... Darby has graciously allowed me to share my ten favorite quotes from this fabulous book. She is also giving away THREE SIGNED PRINT copies of The Stag Lord to three lucky winners! This giveaway is international.

Just fill out the Rafflecopter form after the quotes for your chance to win!

1.       “Without a word, he took her free hand. Raising it to his lips, he allowed himself one moment of warm skin beneath his mouth, one whiff of soap and honeysuckle lotion, before facing hell again.”

2.       “I wanted a friend. One who would want me to stand with him, on the field of battle, or in mundane trials of daily life.”

3.       “His son deliberately turned away, an eight-year-old’s equivalent of flipping him the bird.”

4.       “‘Real life is never that way. Real life is confusing. And messy. And painful. And too many good people get serious crap dumped on them.’ The thought of Cor, huddled on the filthy floor of that shack, his face aged by what had happened to him and his father, made her want to whip out her weapon and start a-swinging.
‘I disagree, Shay Doyle.’ Bann’s voice took on a strange tone. ‘More than not, reality is finer than we could ever dream.’”

5.       “‘‘Manners maketh man.’ My son will be a gentleman.’
‘I thought you were raising him to be a warrior.’
‘I’m raising him to be both.’”

6.       Damn. These two are going to steal my heart if I’m not careful. A tiny voice in her head whispered. Who says they haven’t already?

7.       Gods, could I have mucked this up any worse? The gods shook their heads no, snickering, and settled back for more of the show.”

8.       “The click of the knob seemed to announce to the household Why, would you look at that. Bann. Skulking out of Shay’s room in the wee hours of the morning. Naked as the day he was born.

9.       “‘Remember, Cormac Boru, you’re a descendent of the High King of Ireland, and Tuatha Dé Danaan to boot. You know what that means?’ ‘That I’m one tough son of a bitch?’ he whispered.”

10.   “His eyes were fixed on the woods beyond the wall. His heart remained with his son.”
Gahhh.. I just adore these. Thank you so much, Darby, for letting me share ten of my favorite quotes from The Stag Lord
This book releases December 2, 2014; and on Thanksgiving Day, Darby has a wonderful guest post here on the blog for everyone!
