Weekend Reads Read-a-thon: The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

I'm a huge fan of The Infernal Devices series. I absolutely love these three books. I read The Mortal Instruments books before my reviewing/blogging days, and I confess that I inhaled them so my brain gets a bit fuzzy on the details. There were so many amazing tie-ins and hidden gems in The Infernal Devices linking back to TMI, some of which I figured out but most I had to go running to my blog wifey Teresa at Readers Live A Thousand Lives to fill me in and help jog my memory. She is the TMI knowledge Queen!! So much fun to pick her brain then pass along the information to my fellow Shadowhunter fangirls (Nyssa, Christie, and Maria)!

Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3)

Anyway, since Clockwork Princess broke me -- BROKE, as in reading anything else was extremely trying there for a while...

...I decided, since I wanted to stay in this world, I would re-read The Mortal Instruments series and also be prepared for the much-anticipated 2014 release, City of Heavenly Fire. (2014??? Really??)

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3)
City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments #5)

When I first read these books, Katertot was too young to read them with me; but, now that she is older, she is Shadowhunter-ready. So we are having a mom/daughter read-a-thon, and she has already fallen under Jace's spell. I am actually enjoying the books even more this time around. There is something to be said for taking your time and savoring each story, as well as sharing them with your most favorite person in the world. Not to mention the added excitement of this summer's movie:

(Why, hello, Magnus... I've always loved you, but I had no idea just how incredibly beautiful you truly were!)

And now we have these amazing gems, The Bane Chronicles, starting with...

What Really Happened in Peru (The Bane Chronicles, #1) ensure that we stay in Ms. Clare's world for a very long time.

So look for some gushing fan-girly mom/daughter reviews over the next month or so!
