Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week's teaser comes from the following book:
“So we've made up our own language,
in the way we press chest to chest
and the way we touch noses when we kiss.
I get to say his name - his real name.
A name that brings a taste of sunshine,
and of sunshine raising mist from the trees,
and of mist reaching toward the sky.
His secret name, which belongs to me,
and to him, and to no one else.”
If you've already read this novella along with Requiem, then you know just how breathtakingly beautiful and poignant this passage is. I was so moved, I couldn't help but break the two-sentence rule. For a novella that I didn't expect to love that much, Raven turned out to be my favorite of The Delirium Series novellas. I highly recommend reading this short story before you dive into Requiem, as there is a particular piece of information that isn't revealed in the final installment.
I'd love to know what your Teaser is!
